Deli Associate – Job Description
A Deli Associate at Acquistapace's is responsible for preparing, packaging, and serving deli products while providing excellent customer service. This role ensures food quality, cleanliness, and efficiency in a fast-paced retail or grocery environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and take orders for deli items such as meats, cheeses, salads, and prepared foods
- Slice, weigh, and package products according to customer requests
- Maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards (cleaning equipment, surfaces, and storage areas)
- Stock and rotate products in display cases, ensuring freshness and proper labeling
- Operate deli equipment such as slicers, scales, and ovens safely
- Assist with food preparation, including sandwiches, salads, fruit or produce and hot foods
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or spoilage
- Bread baking will be a particular responsibility of this role
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for weighing and pricing items
- Knowledge of food safety practices (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights (20–50 lbs)
- Teamwork and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, grocery, or deli environments
- Familiarity with deli slicing equipment and food prep
- Bread or other baking skills are particularly useful
Work Environment

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
