Position Summary The Data Transformation Technician is a key member of the Enterprise Applications Team,responsible for building, maintaining, and optimising data pipelines and transformationprocesses across multiple sources—including on-premises, cloud-based, and ad-hoc systems.This role ensures the delivery of accurate, enriched datasets that enable actionable insights andinformed business decisions. Working closely with the Data Transformation Lead and Specialist,the Technician will focus on technical execution, automation, and data quality while contributingto enterprise data initiatives. Key Responsibilities 1. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with the Data Transformation Lead and Specialist to deliver high-quality datasolutions. Engage with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure accurateimplementation. Contribute to team planning sessions and provide input on technical feasibility. Communicate project status, application performance metrics, and other relevant updatesto leadership and stakeholders. Utilise and promote the effective use of collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Jira,Confluence) to facilitate clear communication, enhance project transparency, and drivesuccessful collaboration across teams. 2. Data Pipeline Development & Management Build, configure, and maintain data pipelines that integrate data from on-premises, cloud,and third-party sources. Implement automation for ETL/ELT processes to improve efficiency and reduce manualintervention. Optimise pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliability and scalability. 3. Data Transformation & Enrichment Execute data cleansing, transformation, and enrichment processes to produce high-qualitydatasets. Apply standardisation techniques and best practices for data modelling and structureoptimisation. Develop reusable scripts and templates to accelerate data preparation and reduceduplication. 4. Data Governance & Quality Assurance Ensure all datasets comply with organizational data governance standards, securityprotocols, and privacy regulations. Monitor data quality and performance, implementing controls to detect and resolve issuesproactively. Maintain thorough documentation of data workflows, pipelines, and transformationprocesses. 5. Technology and Tools Use advanced tools such as Azure Data Factory, Domo, SQL Server, and scriptinglanguages (Python, SQL, R) to manage and optimise data workflows. Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute ideas for continuous improvement. 6. Strategic Contributions Contribute to the enterprise data strategy by identifying opportunities for innovation andimproved data usage. Support the development of dashboards, reports, and advanced analytics solutions byproviding enriched datasets. Act as a key resource in data integration efforts for enterprise application projects andbusiness initiatives. 7. Compliance and Documentation: Support Enterprise Data initiatives by ensuring reliable and well-structured data flows. Assist in preparing enriched datasets for dashboards, reports, and analytics projects. Play an active role in integration efforts for enterprise applications and business projects. Maintain thorough documentation, including runbooks, support procedures, andconfiguration records. Skills, Competencies, Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalentwork experience). 5 years of experience managing and supporting enterprise or broadcast-specificapplications. Ability to analyse complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Proven experience in incident management and establishing on-call rosters. Strong knowledge of broadcast technologies and associated software applications. Basic understanding of cloud-based application solutions and integrations is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technicalconcepts into non-technical terms. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically. Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with various departments. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Preferred Qualifications Understanding of ITIL practices for service management.
