Teacher Assistant

About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to join our educational team in Humboldt, TN. In this role, you will work closely with lead teachers to create a supportive, safe, and engaging learning environment for our students. You will provide vital instructional and clerical support, helping to manage classroom activities and giving special attention to students who need extra assistance to succeed academically and socially.

What You'll Do

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and instructional activities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students reinforcing learning concepts.
• Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, structured learning environment.
• Prepare teaching materials, bulletin boards, and classroom displays.
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, transitions, and field trips.
• Assist with grading assignments, taking attendance, and other clerical duties.
  
  

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting required for Tennessee school districts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.
• High level of patience, empathy, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist young children throughout the school day.
  
  

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Previous experience working with children in a daycare, school, or camp setting.
• Valid Tennessee teaching assistant certification or passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
• Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR certification.
