The UU World of Children Montessori School is seeking a caring and reliable Long-Term Substitute Afternoon Assistant Teacher to support our Primary classroom (children ages 3–6).
The schedule is Monday 2:30-5:30PM and Tuesday through Friday 11:30AM-5:30PM.
This position will begin July 27th and run through November 20th. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience working with young children, or for college students majoring in Early Childhood Education or a related field, to gain hands-on experience in a Montessori environment. Montessori certification is not required.
There is also the potential to continue as a substitute after the assignment ends.

Duties
- Assist the Lead Teacher in managing the afternoon routine
- Supervise and engage with children during indoor and outdoor activities
- Help maintain a calm, clean, and inviting classroom environment
- Support children's independence and exploration in a respectful way
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- High school diploma
- Experience working with young children (through camps, babysitting, classroom, etc.)
- Ability to pass required state background checks
- Complete 15 hours of online training within 30 days of hire
- If you continue with us as a substitute during the school year, CPR/First Aid certification and completion of annual training will be required (support provided)
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Familiarity or interest in Montessori education principles
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and a strong work ethic
- Enthusiasm for nature-based learning and outdoor play

Salary : $14 - $17
