JOB OVERVIEW:

Monitors and patrols assigned areas to provide a safe environment for guests and employees and to minimize opportunities for loss or damage. Anticipates potential problems and reacts to disturbances and prohibited conduct. Responds to emergency situations as needed. Provides leadership to the Security Officers on the Lead Officers assigned shift. Assists the Shift Supervisor in the leadership of his assigned shift, ensures Security Officers complete their tasks, staff their posts and adhere to the Policy and Procedures of Acqualina Resort & Spa and the Departmental Directives of the Acqualina Resort & Spa Security Department. Ability to perform the function of Shift Supervisor in their absence.

REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor or in their absence the Security Manager

SUPERVISES: All Security Officers/Dispatchers

WORK ENVIRONMENT: All areas of Hotel and surrounding property.

Job involves working:

• Under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold).
• Under variable noise levels.
• Outdoors/indoors.
• Longer periods in stationary standing position
• Walking long distances
  
  

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: All Hotel staff.

External: Hotel Guests/Visitors, Police Department, Fire Department, vendors and contractors.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Criminal-free record.
• High school graduate.
• Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
• Provide legible communication and directions.
• Compute basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers).
• Ability to:
• Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
• Prioritize, organize and follow up.
• Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
• Follow directions thoroughly.
• Understand guest’s service needs.
• Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
• Work a flexible schedule/weekends/holidays
  
  

Desirable:

• High School Diploma.
• 2 years experience.
• Experience with computers.
• Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers.
• Experience in Hospitality Industry in similar position.
• Previous guest relations training.
• Certification of previous training in alcohol awareness program.
• Knowledge of local laws, investigative methods and fire safety.
• Certification in CPR and basic first aid.
• Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish or Creole or Russian is preferred.
• Valid State of Florida driver’s license.
• Excellent driving record.
• Able to drive all Company Vehicles.

Essential:

• 2. Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
• 3. Reach 12 inches.
• 4. Remain in active for 8 hours throughout work shift.
