The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform daily inventory activities, including receiving, storing, issuing, and counting of materials.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the inventory system.
- Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and monthly physical inventories.
- Identify and report discrepancies or damaged materials to the Inventory Control Supervisor.
- Help organize and maintain warehouse areas, labeling, and bin locations for efficient storage.
- Support the movement of materials between departments and facilities as required.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, and Shipping to ensure timely material availability.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Inventory Accuracy Rate – Target: = 98%
- Cycle Count Completion Rate – Target: 100% adherence to schedule
- Inventory Turnover Ratio – Target: Maintain balance to minimize overstock
Experience & Qualifications:
Required
- 2 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or material handling environment
- Basic understanding of inventory management systems and practices
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar inventory tracking software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate material handling equipment
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Forklift certification or OSHA safety training
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S practices
- Associate’s degree or coursework in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
- Industrial warehouse/manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery, noise, and fluctuating temperatures
- Must wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety protocols
