Dishwasher/Steward

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment

• Operate commercial dishwashing machines safely and efficiently

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, trash areas, and storage spaces

• Remove trash, recyclables, and food waste in compliance with sanitation guidelines

• Assist with basic kitchen prep and stocking as needed

• Ensure compliance with all health department regulations, food safety standards, and casino policies

• Follow proper handling procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment

• Support cooks and kitchen staff during peak service periods

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times

Required Qualifications

• Prior dishwashing or stewarding experience preferred, but not required

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, and safety

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling

• Exposure to heat, water, steam, and cleaning chemicals

The Dishwasher/Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, dishware, utensils, and work areas in accordance with health, safety, and tribal casino standards. This position plays a vital role in supporting kitchen operations and ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient food service environment.
