Overview
We are seeking a passionate and collaborative Montessori Elementary Teacher, certified by a MACTE-accredited Montessori training center at the 6-12 or 9-12 level to join our caring, supportive Montessori school. This person will partner as a co-teacher with our current 6-9 trained Montessori teacher to create a 6-12 classroom as we add on to our current Lower Elementary program. The ideal candidate will be someone with a few years of experience teaching in a Montessori Elementary program, be a strong communicator and collaborator, and comfortable supporting both students and families. This role involves fostering a nurturing learning environment that encourages student independence, curiosity, and academic growth across various subjects including literacy, math, and social-emotional skills. The teacher will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and supporting students’ individual learning needs through innovative teaching strategies and some degree of technology integration.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with Montessori principles and educational standards.
- Facilitate engaging lessons in literacy education, math, science, social studies, and physical education tailored to elementary students.
- Manage classroom environment to promote positive behavior management and effective classroom management techniques.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing and ongoing assessments.
- Incorporate learning technology tools to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement.
- Provide mentorship and support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism or requiring early intervention services.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain clear communication with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Integrating literacy resources into daily activities.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to Montessori education, special education strategies, and behavior management techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with elementary-aged children in a classroom setting; prior private school experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development, childhood education, and Montessori teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and staff.
- Demonstrated ability in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools and standardized testing procedures.
- Experience working with children with special needs or those requiring early intervention is preferred.
- Writing skills for documentation, report writing, and educational planning purposes.
- Ability to mentor students effectively while fostering an inclusive classroom environment focused on positive behavior management practices.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
