About the Role As an Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with the activities of the overall general accounting, office and payroll functions. You will assist with oversight and maintenance of accounting systems, procedures, and policies. This position ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting and payroll data and acts as liaison between the company, government, payroll provider and Controller in providing required information and ensuring proper records are maintained. Responsibilities Maintain one or a combination of generally accepted accounting systemsResponsible for completing basic accounting procedures (A/R, A/P, payroll entry, cash reconciliation, general ledger)Help monitor and review all records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transitionsCompile and record employee time and payroll data. May compute wages, deductions and prepare payroll using third party payroll softwareAssist in performing all basic accounting procedures, including financial statement preparation, month end closing, journal entries and general ledger maintenance, inventory roll forwards, and fixed asset and margin analysis; help prepare supporting schedules for financial statements preparationCommunicate with customers and suppliers to address AR and AP related inquiriesAssist with PTO tracking, new hire, payroll data entryHelp review, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts in conjunction with preparing monthly reports for managementThis role will perform a mix of routine daily functions and month end responsibilities in an onsite position located in Franksville, WI Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field preferredExceptional organization and time management skillsFamiliarity with payroll entry and software systems.High attention to detail; ability to take direction, self-check and follow up on workBasic database experience, 10-key by touch, and calculatorAnalytical and critical problem-solving skillsStrong knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel, or other accounting softwareAbility to apply discretion, and trust with confidential company informationPrior accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is helpfulKnowledge of Macola or Epicor ERP systems, and Paylocity payroll a plus. Required Skills 2 -3 years of prior bookkeeping or accounting experienceProficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, basic data analysis)General computer skills and ability to learn new systemsExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
