Position Overview:
As a Fire Alarm Technician, you’ll be responsible for installing, testing, and repairing fire alarm and security and camera systems, while ensuring that all installations meet industry standards and local codes. In this role, you’ll work both individually and as part of a team, supporting clients with their security needs while contributing to a high level of service and satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and repair fire alarm systems, ensuring install is in compliance with industry standards and NFPA-72 standards.
- Install, test, and repair security and camera systems, ensuring they function properly and meet client specifications
- Consult with clients to assess system requirements, provide recommendations, and offer cost estimates.
- Explain and demonstrate system functionality to end users to ensure proper understanding and use.
- Participate in ongoing training, continuing education, and preparation for industry-related certifications.
- Follow Acom’s safety guidelines and standards, ensuring the highest quality and safety in installations.
- Some travel may be required for installation and service visits.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Knowledge of fire alarm, security and camera system installation with at least 2 years of experience in the low voltage field (preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair systems.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and building plans to ensure correct system installation.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing both A-frame and extension ladders.
- Ability to lift 60-75 lbs.
- Willingness to work in attics, under houses, and in extreme temperatures (hot and cold).
- Must be able to install system hardware and wiring in various environments.
