Description:Position: Job Developer/Job CoachFunction: Supports adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) enrolled in Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) with engagement in employment in fidelity to the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model. At least 65% of the work week is spent in the field in the community.Reports to: ACT Team LeaderDeployed to: Bronx ACT TeamSchedule: Mondays-Fridays (8am-4pm or 9am-5pm) Tasks:Provides employment readiness needs assessments and develops individualized plans congruent with participant needs, preferences, goals and readinessConducts rapid job search for participantsCarries out systemic job development and partnering with employers in the communityDevelops employment opportunities for participants by establishing linkages and relationships with potential employers in the communityProvides ongoing support and coaching to assist participants engaged in employment or employment readiness activities to improve behaviors, interpersonal skills, and work ethics necessary to maintain employmentWorks with employers to facilitate reasonable accommodation for participants according to participant needAssists individuals in understanding and managing changes to their benefits and entitlements based on their employment incomeAssures monitoring and documentation of participant progress by developing and maintaining tracking and progress reportsEnters data into the NY Employment Services System (NYESS) and Child and Adult Integrated Reporting System (CAIRS)Attends training as assigned including participation in trainings and technical assistance related to IPSActively participates in the Center for Practice Innovations IPS Learning CollaborativeCollaborates as an active member of the ACT team in promoting employment related goals and objectives for participantsDuties as assigned by supervisorRequirements:High School Diploma or Equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred) with multiyear experience in supportive employment (e.g. soft skill development, job coaching, job development, placement support) for people with SMI. Strong organizational and written and oral communication skills. Capable of taking an assignment from concept to completion with minimal supervision. Ability to travel in NYC utilizing public transportation. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
