Your Role as a Service Technician - Gas
Your day revolves around inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing various mechanical, electrical, and fuel issues on motorized power equipment. Your responsibilities include:
- Performing service calls on the road and communicating with customers about equipment issues, maintenance plans, and work performed
- Performing routine engine maintenance (lubricating parts, replacing spark plugs, testing and inspecting engines for malfunctioning parts, repairing and replacing worn/defective/broken parts, and reassembling and reinstalling components and engines following repairs)
- Cleaning up tools and work areas after each project, keeping indoor and outdoor workstations clean and clear from obstructions, and maintaining clean and working service trucks
- Prioritizing your work schedule, especially during busy seasonal times
- Clearly communicating with the Service Supervisor and Parts department to ensure parts are ordered and received in a timely manner
- Accurately record keeping, including inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used
- Assisting as sales support if needed
- Maintaining a safe and secure work environment by adhering to and striving to improve safety standards and reporting any suspicious activity Completing related tasks as assigned
- A valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- To be willing to work indoors and outdoors in all seasons
- To be willing to cross-train in other repair areas and help work on anything sold at Acme Tools
- Lift up to 75 lbs.
- Stand and walk for up to 10 hours
- Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
