Cleaner

About the Role
The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of our apartment homes and community areas. You’ll ensure vacant units are move-in ready, keep common areas pristine, and support the maintenance and property management teams with pride and professionalism.

What You’ll Do
•    Clean and sanitize all fixtures, appliances, cabinets, windows, bathrooms, and flooring in vacant apartments.
•    Steam clean carpets and wash/mop vinyl or tile floors.
•    Report any maintenance or mechanical issues found during cleaning to the Service Manager.
•    Assist with light maintenance tasks and upkeep of community buildings.
•    Maintain grounds, including trash removal and outdoor cleanliness.
•    Perform snow removal and other seasonal exterior duties as needed.
•    Complete all other tasks as assigned by the Community Director or Service Manager.

What You Bring 
•    1 years of experience in cleaning, custodial, or property maintenance roles preferred.
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•    Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
•    Positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile.
•    Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
•    Ability to stand continuously for up to 2 hours at a time, totaling approximately 6–7 hours per workday, while performing cleaning tasks throughout the property.
•    Ability to walk frequently for up to 1 hour at a time, totaling approximately 3–4 hours per workday, including movement between buildings and frequent stair use.
•    Ability to sit occasionally for up to 30 minutes at a time, totaling no more than 1 hour per workday.
•    Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds continuously, up to 35 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally when handling cleaning supplies, equipment, trash, and furniture.
•    Ability to frequently push and pull cleaning equipment and carts.
•    Ability to frequently bend, kneel, and crouch, with frequent reaching and occasional overhead reaching to complete cleaning tasks.
•    Ability to frequently use hands and arms for power grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation to safely operate vacuums, buffers, steam cleaners, and other cleaning tools.
•    Ability to work indoors and outdoors and tolerate varying temperatures, weather conditions, and exposure to cleaning chemicals throughout the workday.
•    Minimal travel is required, limited to onboarding and occasional training at the corporate office in Bloomfield Hills or training sites within the Metro Detroit area (e.g., Warren, Troy).
