Warehouse & Inventory Control Supervisor - 2nd shift (Sunday-Thursday)
Acme Distribution Centers, a leading company in the logistics industry, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse and Inventory Control Supervisor for our 2nd shift at our Aurora location. The Warehouse & Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for coordinating processes between all departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency of operations and maximize warehouse productivity within the location. Ensures compliance with all Company business standards, policies and procedures, federal, state and local laws.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Direct all aspects of warehouse operations including receiving, delivery, and inventory management as well as providing leadership, training and coaching to warehouse personnel and temporary employees on operational activities, performance, and safety.
- Accurately track all inventory movements using software or other systems, maintaining records of purchases, receipts, and shipments.
- Perform regular physical counts, cycle counts, and spot checks to ensure the accuracy of recorded stock levels.
- Investigate and correct any discrepancies found between physical counts and system records.
- Manages direct to customer orders through internal WMS and customers SAP system, email and phone correspondence.
- Administer proper discipline when necessary working with the Human Resources Department and Department Manager on all employee related issues to include disciplinary decisions. Assisting with reducing employee turnover and reducing overtime-working hours.
- Ensure adherence of all company policies, rules and guidelines, and SOPs.
- Available for internal & external customer & operational necessities.
- Ensure that all client information is current and up to date.
- Maintaining extensive customer contact by phone, email and in person.
- Monitor and direct dock activities to ensure the delivery of products to/from customers.
- Guarantee that accounts are handled accurately and efficiently in coordination with supervisors in customer service and operations department.
- Processing paperwork involved in shipping and receiving of individual assigned accounts.
- Excellent client service.
- Lead warehouse team to improve efficiencies, customer experience, space utilization and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure minimal product damage, equipment maintenance and safety, and uphold housekeeping standards.
- Meet or exceed all metrics and investigate and resolve customer complaints.
- Make recommendations and assist in implementation of process improvements.
- Perform other functions as assigned.
- This position abides by GMP and Food Safety/Quality regulations set by the company.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience in a customer service environment interacting with large accounts and/or vendors.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills and must be a team player.
- Skill in organization, time management, prioritization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the public.
- Must be PC literate with proficient knowledge of MS Office Suites (Windows, Word, and Excel).
- Must be able to ask questions and learn quickly.
- Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize own workload using critical thinking, proactive resolution skills and techniques while providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to manage large volumes of data and co-workers in a positive and constructive manner.
- Must be able to read and write in English and understand computer generated reports, office reports, invoices, etc.
- Must be able to operate various computer diagnostic devices, PCs and laptops.
- Full understanding of all DOT, Federal & State laws regarding maintenance/repairs.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Must be able to establish and meet set goals and deadlines with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a direct or indirect leadership role.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, reach, lift, carry, bend, kneel, and stoop.
- Also required to climb, balance, crouch, crawl, squat, talk, speak, and hear.
- Must have considerable mobility, and able to stand or sit for long durations of time.
Compensation:
- Type: Full-Time Sun-Thurs 4pm start time
- Pay: Salary $58,000-62,000
