Overview
A General Carpenter plays a vital role in residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed project construction by executing a wide range of carpentry tasks. Working primary in small teams of 1-3 members. This role spans everything from structural framing to fine interior finishing, requiring versatility, strong problem-solving skills, demands strong technical skills, physical stamina, and adherence to safety standards to ensure high-quality workmanship and timely project completion. Flexible travel between multiple job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret construction plans and technical drawings to execute projects accurately
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install various wood and metal components using hand tools and power tools for woodworking and framing
- Perform residential carpentry tasks including door hanging, cabinet installation, siding, trim carpentry, and flooring installation
- Operate woodworking machines safely for fabrication and custom woodwork projects
- Conduct remodeling and renovation activities such as fixture installation, drywall repair, caulking, and siding replacement
- Assist with heavy lifting and material handling to ensure efficient project progression while maintaining safety standards
- Read blueprints and construction plans accurately to guide project execution
- Utilize CNC machinery for precise fabrication when required
- Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings accurately for framing or masonry projects.
- Contribute to the installation of water-resistant materials such as caulking and stucco for exterior finishes.
- Participate in reinstallation or repair of existing structures during restoration projects including redoing siding or plastering damaged areas.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards by always practicing proper use of power tools and heavy machinery.
- Assist in the fabrication of custom fixtures or components using woodworking or metalworking techniques.
- Support restoration industry projects including mold remediation and structural repairs
Multi-Site Mobility: Travel reliably between various active job sites to carry out carpentry tasks, deliver materials, or manage site setups as scheduled.
· Safety & Code Compliance: Strictly follow OSHA safety regulations and local building codes at all job site locations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience: 3 years of proven carpentry experience in residential or commercial construction.
· Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specs, and layout plans.
· Tool Proficiency: Skilled in operating power tools (miter saws, table saws, nail guns) and hand tools safely.
· Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
· Good physical stamina to meet the demands of the job
· Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
· Able to collaborate well within a team environment
· Physical Demands: Ability to lift 75 lbs, work in varied weather conditions, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
Pay between $20.00-$30.00HR Depending on scope of work.
