In this position, you will:
- Help program participants achieve/exceed their personal goals;
- Provide structure and emotional support;
- Assist in resolving behavioral issues;
- Help people supported with personal hygiene;
- Complete detailed, accurate documentation
- Transport the people supported to and from volunteer and pre-vocational activities using Agency vehicles.
We require:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- One year experience in OPWDD field required. Two (2) years of experience preferred
- Complete (within 90 days of hire) and maintain required training in SCIP (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention) Restrictive Certification, CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation), First Aird, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Obtain (within 180 days of hire) and maintain AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel)
- The Ability to assist with lifting and transferring a person
- Ability to communicate and understand in English; both verbally and in writing
- Clean valid NYS Driver's License
