Part-time overnight shift: Wednesday-Sunday 11pm-7am

The Charles Evans Center (CEC) is a leading not-for-profit located in Nassau County. CEC assists adults diagnosed with mental illness in reaching the highest level of independence with the freedom to ASPIRE HIGHER in their hopes, dreams and accomplishments.
We are seeking an experienced part-time Forensic Overnight Counselor to assist in the recipient care who have a variety of criminogenic, social, and psychiatric needs.
In this role as Forensic Overnight Counselor, you will:
- Provide counseling, behavioral interventions, restorative services, assistance in negotiating community activities and crisis management services.
- Monitor, train and assist residents in all programs in household maintenance activities to ensure a clean, safe and homelike environment. Directly participate in household maintenance activities when required.
- Provide training, supervision and assistance to residents in daily activities including food purchases, recreational activities, and meal planning and personal care activities.
- Assist residents in developing meaningful service plan goals and provide supports to assist residents in achieving their goals.
- Document interactions with residents in accordance with agency policies and standards.
- Meet weekly, or as scheduled, with assigned primary residents for counseling and to establish and review service plan goals.
- Assist residents in procuring and maintaining financial entitlements.
- Monitor medications as required.
This position as a Forensic Overnight Counselor requires:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with forensic population preferred.
- Must have a New York driver’s license and clean driving record.
