SURVEYING TECHNICIAN (SEASONAL POSITION, SPANNING JUNE TO FIRST SNOW OCTOBER/NOVEMBER TIME FRAME)
Ackerman Surveying & Associate's is looking for driven and hard-working individual to the join team for seasonal employment.
The Surveying Technician will work closely with experienced survey professionals to gain practical on-the-job experience and will work to understand field processes and support the survey team to complete both private and public projects.
This position will work on various projects within both land surveying and construction surveying fields. This position is ideal for applicants who like variety in their day to day. On-the-job training will be provided.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and prepare equipment for the day.
- Operate survey instruments to assist in conducting field surveys for boundaries, topography, data collection, geodetic control and construction staking for site layout, structures, grading, paving, roadways, and drainage features under the supervision of surveying professionals.
- Assist with assembling field data, records, and field drawings.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma
- Valid driver's license
- Physical Requirements:
- Required to work in an outdoors environment including construction sites within proximity to traffic, noise, and dust.
- Will require prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Will be required to dig holes and pound stakes with hand tools.
- Ability to lift equipment or objects weighing 50-75 pounds.
- Required pre-employment drug test.

- The expected duration for summer and seasonal work is from March/April until August/September and is open through December with the potential to turn into a full-time permanent employment opportunity.
- Ackerman Surveying provides up to date tools and equipment, with opportunities to use aerial drones, robotic tool stations, GPS, and sonar boats, etc.
- 45-55-hours per week on average
- Position is located in Minot, ND
