Essential Job Functions
- Assist with PCP authorizations and related referral coordination.
- Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility accurately and timely.
- Follow up on authorization status and pending insurance-related items.
- Process incoming and outgoing medical records requests.
- Support surgery scheduling and related coordination.
- Support intake coordination as needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Communicate professionally with patients, insurance companies, and outside offices.
- Support front office and administrative needs as assigned.
- Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines at all times.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- At least one year related experience in Customer Service in a medical environment is required.
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the medical field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Strong organizational and time management skills
