Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

About the Role

Join a leading healthcare facility known for excellence in emergency care. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced ER nurses to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment treating patients across all age groups — from newborn to geriatric.

Responsibilities

• Deliver emergency nursing care to patients with varying levels of acuity.
• Conduct rapid triage, patient assessment, and ongoing monitoring.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and emergency interventions as per protocols.
• Support procedures including sedation, rapid-sequence intubation (RSI), ventilator management, and arterial blood gas (ABG) draws.
• Start IVs and manage lines for both pediatric and adult patients.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document all care activities accurately using EPIC EMR.
• Participate in code and trauma response situations.
• Adhere strictly to infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department experience – Required
• EPIC EMR experience – Required
• Recent travel nursing experience – Preferred
• Skilled in procedural sedation, RSI, IV starts, and ABG collection
• Active New York RN license in good standing
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA) certifications – Required
• New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate – Must be submitted with application
• Must pass a 14-panel drug screen within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license

• RN-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Unit Beds: 43
• Orientation: 8 hours (non-billable)
• OT/Holiday Multiplier: 1.25x
• RTO Policy: Pre-approved only (max 5 days)
• Mandatory De-escalation Training: Welle Training or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required prior to onboarding

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
