Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Critical Care Unit (CCU) within the Intensive Care (ICU) department. The RN will be responsible for providing exceptional, evidence-based care to critically ill patients, including those recovering from open-heart procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Critical Care Unit.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care based on age-specific needs.
- Manage immediate post–open-heart recovery cases, ensuring safe and effective interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Supervise and guide non-RN staff, including LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.
- Float to other critical care units as required within skill competency.
- Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and documentation requirements.
Qualifications
- Active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) License – Required
- 1 Years of Critical Care Experience – Required
- Immediate Open Heart Recovery Experience – Required (Preferably 3 years recent)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association, Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – American Heart Association, Required
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) – Required
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Highly Preferred
- Must be willing to float to all critical care units within skill level
