Position Summary
The Behavioral Health Office Nurse provides and coordinates professional nursing care for assigned patients. This role is carried out independently within the scope of accepted nursing practice, medical direction, hospital policies, and established standards.
Using the Nursing Process, the Office Nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to ensure the highest quality outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
- Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions.
- Ensure high-quality outcomes and patient safety.
Collaborative Teamwork
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare staff.
- Participate in developing and implementing individualized care plans.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed medical records.
- Report any changes in patient condition promptly to the care team.
Medication Administration
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety protocols.
Patient & Family Education
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, disease management, and wellness strategies.
Patient Support & Advocacy
- Provide emotional support to patients and families.
- Advocate for patient rights and ensure compassionate, respectful care.
Compliance
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Professional Development
- Engage in continuing education to stay current with medical advancements and best practices.
