Overview:
ACI Health is seeking a certified and experienced Medical Assistant to support healthcare services at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) in Hazelton, located in Bruceton Mills, WV. This is a meaningful opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care in a unique correctional setting- offering a competitive hourly rate of $19/hour.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting physicians and providers with patient exams and minor surgical procedures
- Recording vital signs, preparing patients, administering medications as directed
- Performing tasks such as blood draws, EKGs, urinalysis, and glucose testing
- Maintaining medical records, clinic supplies, and ensuring infection control compliance
- Collaborating with clinic staff to manage patient flow and ensure timely care
- Using government electronic medical systems (e.g., BEMR, SENTRY)
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, NCMA, or CCMA)
- Current and unrestricted license to practice in West Virginia
- CPR certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- Strong interpersonal and clinical skills
- Experience in a correctional or institutional setting preferred but not required
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Day shifts between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM (7.5–10 hours/day)
- Federal holidays off
Work Environment:
- FCC Hazelton includes multiple facilities: USP, FCI, SFF, and SPC
- All equipment and supplies are provided by the institution
- Professional attire required (scrubs or business casual, per facility guidelines)
