Position Summary
The Staff Accountant supports core accounting functions and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close process, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Key Responsibilities
- Record, process, and maintain financial transactions within Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Perform accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, vendor communication, and payment support
- Support accounts receivable activities, including billing, cash application, and aging analysis
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Analyze account activity and investigate discrepancies
- Generate financial reports and assist with internal reporting needs
- Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with company policies
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial data and resolve issues
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Understanding of fundamental accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3 years of accounting or relevant internship experience
- Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 experience a plus)
- Familiarity with GAAP and standard accounting practices
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, squat, kneel, sit, and/or stand for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
