Job Overview
As a Marine Technician you will be contributing to the installation of various mechanical and electrical systems and components. You are able read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and blueprints. If you are comfortable with shifting priorities and pivoting to new tasks, and enjoy learning new skills, we’d like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Running and securing wires throughout the vessel
- Install batteries, chargers, and electrical panels
- Fuel system set up including tanks, lines, and filters
- Install fresh and black water plumbing including pumps and tanks
- Set up bilge pump systems and ensure proper drainage
- Mount and wire GPS, radar, sonar and other radio equipment
- Connect and test lighting, navigation and communication systems
- Install outboard and inboard engines including testing and troubleshooting
- Follow company safety requirements and use required personal protective equipment
Experience
- Hands-on experience and knowledge of marine mechanical, electrical and control systems
- Experience with a variety of power tools
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Well versed with reading blueprints and schematics
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in different positions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- ABYC or other marine certifications are a plus
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Pay Rate
$22 - $35 hourly
*Starting pay often falls between entry rate and mid-point for new hires and is based upon specific skills and experience
