Duties
- Provide personalized support to residents by assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met in a caring manner.
- Support residents during activities, outings, and social events to promote engagement and community involvement.
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids safely to prevent injury during transfers.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to health protocols.
- Document care activities accurately in resident records while respecting privacy and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living, home health, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring is essential.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or dementia care are advantageous.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, Alzheimer's disease or memory care needs is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for resident support.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers.
