Civil Design Engineer (no visa sponsorship)

Position Overview

A full-service engineering firm is seeking a Civil Design Engineer in Asheboro, NC. The ideal candidate has strong civil design experience and works well with engineers, designers, and clients. You will handle detailed designs for site development, water and wastewater systems, and capital improvement projects. Tasks include site layout, grading, stormwater design, utility design, roadway plans, and all related calculations and reports. The role involves collaborating with a project team to produce construction documents for residential, multifamily, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects, along with field visits and on-site evaluations when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university required

• Minimum of three years of experience required

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (2023 version) required

• Experience with StormCAD preferred

• Experience with watershed modeling preferred

• North Carolina Professional Engineer license required

Position Responsibilities

• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D

• Design and prepare civil engineering construction documents including site plans, utility plans and profiles, design reports, and specifications

• Support agency coordination for site permitting

• Work within established standards from concept through construction administration for a variety of project types

• Perform civil utility and site design including water, sanitary sewer, storm drain, HGL modeling, fire flow design, and stormwater management, and coordinate with mechanical utilities

• Complete site grading, earthwork design, and sediment and erosion control plans and permitting

• Conduct field visits to identify and resolve field issues

• Build and maintain strong client relationships

• Manage projects including assignments, deadlines, and meetings

• Interpret and apply local codes and standards to construction documents

Compensation

• Salaryrange between $95,000 to US $120,000 per year DOE
