Crayons to Computers, a nonprofit organization, exists to level the playing field in the classroom by ensuring that teachers can provide their students in need the tools to succeed in school.
This full-time position reports to the Operations Manager and works collaboratively with the Operations and Programs teams to ensure shipments and donations are received, processed, sorted and stored in an organized way so that items can be utilized effectively in the free teacher resource store.
We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual who has experience and comfortability within a warehouse setting to help take our operations to the next level.
Daily Operations Support (60%)
Two years' work experience (preferably within a warehouse setting) and high school diploma or equivalent are required. The ideal candidate:

Daily Operations Support (60%)
- Receive shipments and verify their accuracy.
- Unload trucks and place in staging area.
- Assist product donors with their donations (i.e., unloading vehicles, logging their donations, and providing receipts for donations).
- Sort and place product or donations according to warehouse plan.
- Utilize material handling equipment including forklifts, power jacks and other equipment, as needed.
- Assist in stocking the Store as needed. This entails preparing items to stock, including large furniture and testing electronic items, and moving excess items back to their original location after stocking is completed.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
- Support Programs team within warehouse space, as needed, i.e., locating/moving requested items, helping to fill special requests received from teachers, providing access to something that is out of reach.
- Support efforts around inventory process.
- Driving Crayons' vehicles (cargo van and 16 box truck) for pick-ups and deliveries, as needed.
- Lift/maneuver heavy items onto and off of a truck/van, using a pallet jack or forklift.
- Interacting with donors and external constituents in a professional manner.
- Foster positive relationships with corporate donor contacts to continue partnering with them.
- Serve as the ‘face’ of Crayons when interacting with external constituents and represent organization in positive way.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with volunteers and staff through stewardship of positive relationships.
- Participate in the Saturday Store staffing rotation working approximately one Saturday every other month when the store is open (August through late May).
- Practice a willingness to help all Crayons constituents with various tasks needed, such as helping a teacher to their car with a heavy item or assisting a school administrator loading their van with a large donation of furniture or classroom equipment.
- Assisting with general building maintenance or special projects, as needed.
- Practice good stewardship of the environment by helping to manage our recyclable material/product waste appropriately.
- Practice discernment about whether an item is appropriate for a student or classroom.
- Other duties as assigned.
Two years' work experience (preferably within a warehouse setting) and high school diploma or equivalent are required. The ideal candidate:
- Possesses a passion for Crayons' mission and holds a belief that education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty.
- Must have a valid driver's license, insurance, and ability to drive Crayons' vehicles (cargo van and/or 16 ft. box truck).
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Able to or willing to learn to drive a forklift.
- Multi-tasks with ease amidst competing priorities.
- Is skilled at time management for productivity.
- Maintains attention to detail.
- Is a strong problem-solver.
- Is self-motivated and does not require close supervision.
- Possesses good oral and written communication skills.
