Compensation
$23.00 per hour to start. Range is $23.00 to $25.00 per hour depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach independent living skills to individuals in their homes and within the community.
- Support clients with daily living activities, including budgeting, using public transportation, and managing appointments.
- Assist clients in medication routines and attending necessary appointments.
- Promote the development of social skills and positive community interactions.
- Encourage healthy leisure activities and effective use of free time.
- Guide and support clients in developing self-advocacy skills.
- Enhance clients financial management abilities and help safeguard against exploitation.
- Facilitate the acquisition and improvement of adaptive skills and behaviors.
- Participate in the Social Recreation Program by planning and engaging in community-based activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid California Drivers License for at least 2 years.
- Basic computer and technology skills.
- Reliable transportation; driving is required.
- Flexible schedule to meet program needs, including weekends.
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to serve as a positive role model for adults with disabilities.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
