We are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Individuals with Developmental Disabilities, by providing Vocational and Community Living Services. We have been serving Individuals with Developmental Disabilities in San Luis Obispo County since 1957, when we first introduced our Vocational Training Program. In 2003, we partnered with NCI Affiliates, and while both agencies have their own identities, both have a single focus - promoting independence and inclusion for adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities through vocational training, education and adaptive living skills programs, advocacy, and community living services.

JOB SUMMARY

At Achievement House, the Director of Vocational and Day Programs is responsible for the efficient operation; oversight and case management of Achievement House, Inc. (AHI) vocational and community-based day training programs and contracts, as well as employment placement services. This position has supervisory duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Adhere to internal operating procedures and assist in putting procedures together.
  • Ensure compliance with company programs, practices, and policies specific to program and client management and assist with program designs.
  • Guarantee services compliance with State, Federal, CARF, CCL, DOL, Regional Center, Department of Developmental Services, and Department of Rehabilitation.
  • Compliance with Title 17&22 Regulations & CMS Regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Program Designs & Services.
  • Ensure ongoing development and implementation of Vocational Services.
  • Assist Financial Services with Vocational Client and Vocational Contracts billing.
  • Develop and implement Vocational Services marketing and public relations plans.
  • Participate in quality assurance (satisfaction surveys) evaluation of services.
  • Assist in the hiring and training of all vocational/day program services staff (administrative/direct service);
  • Assist the staff in client training skills and in implementing training procedures.
  • Assist in the screening and intake of clients referred to AHI.
  • Verify that Individualized Habilitation Services Plans (IHSP) and Individual Service Plans (ISP) reflects specific training required for the client by assisting Program Coordinators and Case Managers and following Person Centered Planning.
  • Become proficient with DOL standards/requirements in order to address subject when it arises and assist with submission of proper DOL certificates and permits.
  • Evaluate the attainment of outcomes and effectiveness of Individual Habilitation Services Plans through goal tracking forms.
  • Guarantee that documentation of monthly Client Referral Logs and clients eligibility/ineligibility are accomplished through case record reviews.
  • Maintain and complete an accurate and current client files and documentation.
  • Assist in making sure all vocational contracts and sites are being operated efficiently, safely, and meeting all procedures.
  • Ensure that clients/staff completes, understands, and submits all AHI case management paperwork.
  • Maintain positive communication with funding agencies, schools, families, providers.
  • Ensure Individuals rights are met and foremost importance.

QUALIFYING SPECIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in psychology or related field desired - plus, case management experience within a human service delivery agency (additional experience may be substituted for degree with approval from Executive Director).
  • Previous experience working with individuals who have intellectual/developmental delays required.
  • Experience and knowledge of Title 17 and Title 22 regulations as well as general knowledge of the vocational rehabilitation system
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; previous supervisory or leadership experience is required
  • Trained in CPR/First Aid.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have a valid California drivers license and on-going proof of auto insurance.
  • Must be able to pass a Live Scan with the DOJ and/or the FBI.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED

  • Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of the developmental disabilities field and client case management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, speaking clearly, seeing, hearing, and five-finger manipulation.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate computer equipment, office machines, and adaptive equipment used in agency programs without difficulty.
Expected Salary is $70,304.00/year
