If so, this may be the role for you! We are in search of a full-time Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) for our Acton, MA admin office.
As a Patient Care Coordinator, you are the first connection point for our patients. We are looking for someone who will accommodate our patients needs with a customer-first mentality. You will also be responsible for front office administrative functions such as: conducting insurance authorizations, entering patient information into our billing system, ensuring clean and accurate patient statements, and scheduling appointments.

Essential Job Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments utilizing a web-based scheduling program
- Listen to potential patients to understand any uncertainties and then explain the benefits of physical therapy with a view to convert them into a patient
- Track and follow-up on all referred leads
- Obtain patient’s information and verify it is accurate and up to date in the electronic medical record
- Collect copays/co-insurance/deductible balances
- Verify and document patient’s insurance coverage
- Obtain/track/manage authorizations and number of allowed visits; facilitate additional authorizations as needed
- Conduct reminder and rescheduling calls to patients
- Maintain and develop relationships/communications with patients and team members
- Scan Documentation into our EMR
- Check/order/refill supplies
- Provide coverage for PCC Team members within the company
Preferred experience
- 2 years healthcare or business-related office experience working with customers, scheduling and/or insurance verification.
- Associates Degree
- Knowledge and understanding of insurance guidelines and medical terminology
- Pleasant, capable of developing strong relationships and communicating with people of all abilities and statures of life
- Sales skills preferred or a willingness to learn basic sales skills
- Tech savvy – Word and Excel proficient
- EMR experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to effectively problem solve and think creatively
- Commitment to excellent customer service and satisfaction
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as team
- Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and electronically
