What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Billing Specialist position at Achieva?
Salary: $23.60 per hour
Sign-on bonus: $2000 for full-time positions
FUNCTION:
The Senior Billing Specialist supports the organization's day-to-day billing operations and revenue. This position performs daily, weekly, and monthly billing functions. This position reports to the Billing Manager.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primarily responsible for submitting weekly claims using the state databases and various in-house billing software systems.
- Performs claim resubmissions, corrections, and voids as necessary which includes investigation and tracking of rejected and denied claims.
- Processes trade files and remittances from the Department of Public Welfare.
- Acts as a point of contact between program staff and billing staff on related billing issues and adjustments.
- Attends meetings and works closely with software consultants.
- Assists Billing Manager with providing necessary documents and support for internal and external audits and monitoring.
- Completes all revalidation applications with Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.
- Will act as a back-up for Billing Specialist as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Electronic claim experience.
- Proven ability in billing software such as PROMISE, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Solid work ethic and dedication to meeting deadlines.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
- Must satisfy Pennsylvania Act 33 and 34 requirements.
- Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and a properly-insured vehicle for daily use.
Working Environment:
- Full-time position with hybrid flexibility.
- On-site in the Pittsburgh office 3 days weekly and 2 remote days after two months.
