The Consumer Lending Processing Team Lead leads the Consumer Lending Processing team by providing mentorship, workload balancing, and process optimization. The role serves as the subject matter expert for branch frontline processing and partners with management to ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership, Coaching & Staff Development
- Mentor and support processing staff to achieve production goals.
- Oversee onboarding of new hires.
- Partner with Consumer Lending Training on processing topics and best practices
- Partner with Title Desk on aging title issues; coach staff to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor pipelines and manage workload distribution.
- Collaborate with management on staffing, scheduling, and team assignments.
- Facilitate team meetings and training sessions.
- Prepare and communicate Saturday schedules.
- Handle member and loan escalations promptly.
- Develop and implement process improvements and best practices.
- Author and maintain process documentation.
- Represent the credit union with professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards in all interactions and responsibilities.
- Represent and uphold the Achieva Brand Frame.
- Support leadership initiatives that position the credit union as a top employer.
- Participate in annual training or as required by BSA and the Privacy Act.
- Perform other essential functions as needed or assigned.
- Travel may be required on occasion.
- Be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to meet member and business demands.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- 3-5 years’ experience at a financial institution.
- 1-2 years’ consumer loan processing experience.
- 1-2 years’ leadership experience.
- None.
- Intermediate computer skills with MS Office Suite proficiency (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proven organization, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent member/ customer service skills.
