Position: General Manager for Ocala Property

Responsibilities:
- Optimize financial performance.
- Lead and oversee all hotel operations, including guest services, sales, maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, and food & beverage.
- Maintain legal standards in occupational, health, fire, safety, food, and lodging.
- Set goals and build intermediate steps to achieve results.
- Meet corporate deadlines.
- Teach and uphold all brand standards.
- Remain up to date and implement brand standard changes.
- Enforce policies, refine operations manuals, SOP checklists, and databases to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Maintain highly organized and efficient workspaces.
- Train, support and guide all front-line associates in all aspects of their roles.
- Understand and be able to perform any role in the hotel.
- Develop, mentor, encourage, and continuously coach employees to achieve both technical excellence and hone "soft skills" of ethics and interpersonal communication.
- Lead HR functions, including recruitment, training, employee development, and performance management.
- Create schedules, monitor adherence, and ensure a balanced workload for all team members.
- Lead and direct staff meetings.
- Maintain effective communication at all levels.
- Foster a positive work environment through team building activities and one-on-one check-ins with staff.
- Set targets for front-line workers, ensuring career progression and employee satisfaction.
- Discipline team members using positive re-direction techniques and formal write-ups as necessary.
- Supervise inventory management, conduct monthly inventory counts, and optimize resource utilization.
- Implement revenue and yield management strategies, monitor market trends, and review reservation reports.
- Manage basic IT, network, server, voice, PMS, and mission-critical services.
- Monitor and uphold procedures for control of supplies, keys, money, credit, and account access.
- Perform property walks daily.
- Inspect public spaces, guest rooms, exterior and assess all ongoing maintenance tasks daily.
- Embody the ideals of AUTHENTIC HOSPITALITY to ensure guest satisfaction and a welcoming work environment for all colleagues.
- Maintain an active and visible presence in public areas, greeting guests and assessing their level of satisfaction.
- Address all guest complaints and reviews.
- Intervene and completely document any guest and employee incidents.
- Promote and cultivate relationships with guests and potential clients.
- Meet with sales clients, host tours and assist in sales efforts.
- Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, vendors, and community establishments.
- Stay current on industry trends, attend trade shows/conferences, and pursue continuing education.
- Make recommendations and implement any changes needed to meet and exceed company objectives.
Qualification Standards:
- Certified Marriott GM Required
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Three years of hotel experience, with three years in a supervisory or management role.
- Expert knowledge in hotel technology, software, management, and inventory management.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Advanced personnel/HR experience.
Physical Requirements:
The role involves sitting, standing, walking, visual acuity, and manual tasks both indoors and outdoors.
Candidate must have the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Language:
Proficient in English, both written and verbal. Bi-lingual preferred.
Work Environment:
Moderate noise level in indoor and outdoor settings typical of the hospitality industry.
Other Qualifications:
Successful candidates must pass a comprehensive background and drug screening.
