Description
Job Summary:
The Personal Support Instructor (PSI) provides daily care and behavioral support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The PSI helps individuals achieve greater self-sufficiency through structured routines, goal-based activities, and hands-on support aligned with each person’s Individual Support Plan (ISP).
Key Responsibilities:

Assist individuals with daily living tasks and household responsibilities

Implement ISP goals, behavior support strategies, and individual support plans

Track data, monitor progress, and document implementation of plans

Drive individuals to and from appointments, community activities, and other scheduled obligations

Support community participation, recreational activities, and social engagement

Maintain accurate documentation, including daily notes, progress reports, and required records

Attend mandatory trainings, staff meetings, and agency-required sessions

Administer medications as directed and document all administration in the Medication Administration Record (MAR)

Provide 24-hour emergency support as needed and follow agency emergency protocols

Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment

Communicate attendance issues, schedule changes, concerns, or emergencies to supervisors promptly
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (REQUIRED)
- Clean driving record, valid CA Driver’s License, and current auto insurance
- 1–4 years experience in direct support preferred
- Background check required
- Strong documentation and time management skills
