What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Content Specialist position at Aces Fuel Injection, Inc.?
Product Content Specialist (In-Person | Chattanooga, TN)
We’re looking for a Product Content Specialist to help us turn technical product information into clear, helpful, customer-focused content.
This is a writing-first marketing role for someone who enjoys learning how products work, asking good questions, and turning rough technical input into polished content that customers can actually understand. You’ll help write product copy, manuals, installation guides, blog posts, educational articles, email content, and other materials that support both our customers and our brand.
This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys storytelling, technical communication, and learning by talking with subject matter experts. You do not need to come in as an EFI expert, but you do need to be curious, coachable, detail-oriented, and able to think like the customer.
If you enjoy:
- Writing and editing
- Turning complex information into something clear and useful
- Learning about cars, parts, and enthusiast culture
- Talking with coworkers to gather information and clarify details
- Helping create content that actually answers customers’ questions
Then this can be a very fun and rewarding role for the right person.
This is an in-person position at our headquarters in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and may include occasional travel to automotive events and trade shows.
Who We Are
Aces Fuel Injection, Inc. is a manufacturer of electronic fuel injection systems, ignition systems, engine management systems, and supporting components.
We specialize in:
- EFI solutions for classic cars, converting from carburetors to modern fuel injection
- Engine management systems for modern engine swaps, including LS, LT, and Hemi
- Complete fuel, ignition, and control solutions for enthusiasts, builders, and shops
Our Chattanooga office serves as our global headquarters, housing multiple key departments, including:
- Customer Support
- Warehousing & Fulfillment
- Primary Marketing & E-Commerce
- Research & Development
- Product Education
We also collaborate closely with our international teams on select projects, including product development, technical documentation, and marketing initiatives.
Why This Role Is Unique
This is not just a generic content job, and it is not just a technical writing job.
This role sits in the middle of marketing, product education, and customer communication. You’ll help shape how customers understand our products from the first time they see a product page all the way through installation and use.
You’ll work with real products, real customer questions, and real technical input from the people who build, support, and sell what we make. One day, you may be organizing an installation guide. Another day, you may be interviewing a team member for a tech article, rewriting product feature copy, or helping support written content for a new product launch.
This is a great role for someone who wants to build strong experience in content marketing, product communication, and technical storytelling in an automotive environment. The user’s draft for this role already centered the job on product copy, manuals, blogs, and educational writing, and emphasized the need for someone who can take technical input and translate it into customer-friendly language.
What a Typical Week Looks Like
Your week will usually be a mix of writing, editing, formatting, research, and collaboration.
On a normal week, you might spend time drafting or revising product descriptions, updating manuals, formatting installation instructions in Google Docs, interviewing internal team members to better understand a product, or writing blog and educational content around common customer questions.
During launch periods, you may help support product page copy, feature summaries, email content, and technical education materials. At times, you may also help prepare written content tied to events, training sessions, or customer-facing marketing efforts.
Some weeks are more focused on manuals and documentation. Other weeks are more focused on product launches, blog content, or educational articles. Variety is a core part of this role.
Core Responsibilities
You’ll receive training and support, but this role may include:
- Writing and revising product copy, feature and benefit copy, and product descriptions for websites, launch materials, and sales collateral
- Creating and maintaining product manuals, installation guides, quick-start guides, and other customer-facing documentation
- Turning rough technical notes, engineering input, product specs, and installation steps into clear, organized written content
- Interviewing internal subject matter experts and gathering information from R&D, tech support, sales, and leadership
- Writing blog posts, tech articles, educational content, and other long-form pieces that help customers understand products and applications
- Assisting with written content for email campaigns and other marketing initiatives
- Formatting documents in tools such as Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Canva, or similar platforms, including adding images, captions, callouts, tables, and step-by-step visuals where needed
- Reviewing content for grammar, clarity, consistency, accuracy, and brand voice before publication
- Helping identify where visuals should be used to improve clarity and storytelling, even if you are not the one creating the images
- Collaborating across departments to keep content technically accurate, customer-friendly, and on-brand
- Supporting marketing efforts tied to shows, events, training sessions, and other customer-facing activities when needed
- Taking ownership of final deliverables and maintaining a high standard for quality, readability, and usefulness
Other Opportunities Within the Role
This role also includes occasional travel to car shows, trade events, training sessions, and other industry gatherings.
Marketing participates in these events for more than just brand visibility. They help us see how customers actually talk about products, what questions they ask in real time, what confuses them, what excites them, and what content would better help them make buying or installation decisions.
These events also help us gather real-world product insight, support launches, work more closely with enthusiasts and builders, and create more useful educational and promotional content afterward.
