Job Overview:
This role primarily involves answering inbound calls, providing information, scheduling appointments, and offering empathetic support to callers who may be experiencing mental health or substance use challenges. Representatives ensure timely, accurate, and compassionate assistance while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

The Intake Specialist position requires an organized, customer-service driven individual to join Acenda's Access Center team and help serve as the central point of contact for individuals, organizations, and providers accessing health and social services within our Agency
Responsibilities:
- Effectively engages all client populations to assist them in establishing care with an Acenda provider.
- Identify urgent or crisis situations and escalate to the appropriate clinical staff or crisis hotline protocols.
- Collects demographics, verifies insurance and performs fee assessments when necessary to successfully register clients within the EHR.
- Handles inbound/outbound calls, emails and faxes to schedule appointments for therapy, psychiatric evaluations and other clinical services.
- Provides accurate information about Acenda programs, eligibility, and community resources.
- Demonstrates competent written and verbal communication with referral sources and internal stakeholders.
- Records all interaction in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) or CRM system accurately and in real time.
- Works collaboratively with clinical, billing and other support staff to ensure a seamless client experience.
- Follows program policies and procedures and encourages the same in others.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Electronic Health Record experience preferred.
- Exceptional computer skills.
- Must be able to schedule appointments via phone and contact center systems.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment under all circumstances.
- Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans, and utilize time effectively and efficiently.
Additional Information:
- Base Rate: $16.50
- Sign-on Bonus: $500
- Schedule: Monday-Friday; 9am-5:30pm – Remote position
- Bilingual Rate: An additional $1.50 added to base rate if Spanish proficient
