Job Summary:
The Lift Station Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of sewage lift station systems, including pumps, motors, piping, valves, and control systems. This role ensures the efficient operation of sewage and wastewater systems, supporting ACE Septic & Waste’s commitment to providing excellent service and maintaining environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on lift station equipment, including pumps, motors, electrical panels, and alarm systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot lift station operation to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
- Install and calibrate sensors, meters, and other monitoring devices as needed.
- Respond to emergency repair requests and service calls promptly to ensure continuous operation of lift stations.
- Collaborate with other team members to maintain lift station records, update service logs, and provide reports on system performance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies during operations.
- Ensure proper disposal and management of wastewater in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of necessary spare parts and equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service during onsite visits and communicate effectively with clients regarding service updates or issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or wastewater systems is a plus.
- 2 years of experience in lift station maintenance, pump systems, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems for wastewater applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical failures.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, and exposure to wastewater.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills for report generation and data entry.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations in the wastewater industry.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires working in outdoor environments with varying weather conditions.
- Must be available for on-call duties and emergency response outside regular working hours.
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to noise, odors, and hazardous substances.
