Role Description This full-time, on-site Commissioned Security Officer role is based in San Antonio, TX. The Commissioned Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a visible security presence, deterring unauthorized activity, and protecting people, property, and assets. Daily responsibilities include patrolling assigned areas on foot or by vehicle, monitoring entrances and exits, checking doors and gates, and observing for suspicious behavior or safety hazards. The officer will respond to alarms and incidents, complete detailed incident and activity reports, and communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and, when needed, law enforcement. Additional duties may include access control, badge or ID verification, enforcing property rules and post orders, providing customer service and directions to visitors, and participating in required training, drills, and equipment inspections.
Qualifications
- Current commissioned security officer license in Texas (or ability to obtain before hire), with knowledge of state laws and regulations governing security operations.
- (Specialist Position) Experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related protective services field is preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and to respond quickly and safely in emergencies.
- Strong observation, situational awareness, and incident reporting skills, including clear written documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to de-escalate conflicts and interact respectfully with diverse individuals.
- Comfort using basic security technology and tools (e.g., radios, CCTV systems, access control devices, incident reporting apps).
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certifications are a plus.
- Ability to work scheduled shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required, and to reliably report to the San Antonio site.
