Plant Engineering Manager

An established and growing food manufacturing organization is seeking a Plant Engineering Manager to lead engineering and maintenance operations at a high-volume production facility.
This is a key leadership role responsible for driving plant reliability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement, while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all engineering and maintenance functions, including staff performance and development
- Develop and execute engineering strategies to support current and future plant operations
- Own and manage the maintenance budget, identifying risks, opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives
- Drive Reliability Excellence programs, including preventive maintenance, KPIs, and work order systems
- Troubleshoot complex equipment and process issues using systems such as SAP, Historian, and plant data tools
- Oversee capital and expense projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget
- Manage asset lifecycle, including maintenance, upgrades, and replacement strategies
- Maintain effective spare parts inventory and purchasing processes
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, quality, and corporate teams to improve plant performance
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and sustainability
- Serve as a key member of the HACCP and food safety team
- Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)
- 6 years of experience in manufacturing, including at least 1 year in a leadership role
- Experience in food or high-speed manufacturing environments strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, reliability programs, and asset management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SAP or similar systems preferred
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
