Ace January Productions (AJP) is seeking an experienced Pro Audio Visual Technician to join its team. We are looking for techs who have BOTH Audio & Video experience, are dedicated to their skill, and looking to become an employee who is invested in our company.
Under the supervision of the CEO, the experienced Audio Visual Technician will operate and maintain event technology related to Corporate Live and Hybrid, Live-Stream Events.
The ideal candidate will possess a clear understanding of event audio visual systems and equipment, including sound, lighting, and video. Hours and schedules vary depending on event demands, so having a flexible schedule is a must.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience being an AV tech and providing AV tech service's for corporate meetings and conferences.
- Proficient in professional live production systems (e.g. audio, video, projection, lighting, power distribution, rigging, and staging) along with Information and Communication Technology (e.g RF, wireless, local, and wide area networks, cellular technologies that use SDI, NDI, SRT, RTMP, RTP, and SRC protocols) used in telecommunication platforms
- Experience in video switching live, broadcast, streaming, recording, and postproduction workflows
- Experience with Shading and color correction of video signals and displays
- Experience with integrated AV systems using Biamp, Dante, Crestron, Extron, AMX, and similar platforms
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required
- Is a proactive thinker who is quick with problem-solving when situations arise on a job

- Minimum Field of Expertise: Specialized knowledge of and experience with audio-visual and multi-media equipment
- Required to have flexible schedule as gigs and hours change on an as-needed basis
- Ability to lift heavy equipment
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be willing to travel, as some gigs are not in Los Angeles
- Problem solving skills are a must
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the CEO, the Audio Visual Technician will operate and maintain event technology as it relates to live and broadcast events, especially those pertaining to video.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of event audio-visual systems and equipment, including sound, lighting, and video. Will be able to effectively communicate with all AJP executives & coworkers, and eventually work independently across multiple projects and deadlines.
- Work with the CEO in executing a variety of events including but not limited to corporate events, private functions, high-profile events, meetings, and conferences.
- Configure, maintain, and operate live audio visual installations, rehearsals, events, and strikes for events.
- Configure, maintain, and operate virtual event signal flows that support web streams, webinars, meetings, and other online programming.
- Configure, maintain, and operate video production equipment for Live and Broadcast transmission, including: PTZ camera configuration and operation\digital routing switchers and control systems, timecode and various sync types, peripheral broadcast equipment, frame synchronizers converters/scalers and distribution amplifiers.
- Configure, maintain, and operate presidential teleprompting systems including static and rise and fall unit
- Conduct annual inventory and maintenance, including firmware updates of CRUE AV equipment
- Research new technology and provide recommendations on equipment upgrades
