Job description
As a dedicated Personal Support Specialist (PSS) in Maine, your primary responsibilities will involve providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals in need. This includes assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Monitoring and administering medications, as well as maintaining a clean and safe living environment for clients, are integral aspects of the role. Additionally, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the well-being and independence of your clients.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Model Caregiver to provide high-quality care and support to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will Have there own Client that has PSS Hours and have experience in various caregiving settings, including group homes, assisted living, and home health care. This role involves assisting your client with daily living activities, monitoring their health, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and autism.
- Monitor vital signs and observe patients for any changes in condition or behavior.
- Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medication administration records.
- Develop and follow care plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Ensure a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving roles such as home health aide, nursing assistant, or direct support professional is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is beneficial.
- Strong observational skills to monitor patient conditions effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients as needed.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with care plans and the ability to implement them accurately.
