Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process customer transactions swiftly and correctly
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, assisting with product locations, and offering product demos when appropriate
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and confidence, ensuring proper cash handling procedures
- Upsell products and suggest additional items to enhance the customer’s shopping experience and increase sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Assist with inventory management through stocking, product rotation, and participating in stock counts
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when taking orders or answering inquiries from customers or vendors
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers warmly and professionally
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively
