What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Craftsman/Finish Carpenter position at Ace Handyman Services Metro Boston Melrose?
Position Overview
If you are a skilled craftsman who loves the hands-on work of finish carpentry but is tired of the unpaid hassles of running a business—like chasing leads, writing estimates, and tracking down payments—this role is designed for you! We provide a supportive environment where you can focus entirely on your trade. As a Master Craftsman with our team, you will work on a diverse range of residential and light commercial projects, bringing our clients' visions to life with precision and care.
This is a full-time, W2 position that offers independence in the field, backed by a professional office team and owner that handles all scheduling, dispatch, and customer billing. You will enjoy regular, year-round hours, a respectful working environment, and the pride of representing a highly trusted brand across Melrose, Malden, Wakefield, Lynnfield, Saugus, and more.
What Success Looks Like
Your primary goal is to deliver high-quality craftsmanship while providing a seamless, stress-free experience for our customers. On a day-to-day basis, you will arrive at scheduled residential jobs, review the scope of work with the homeowner, and complete finish carpentry or handyman-related projects efficiently and safely. You will keep your workspace clean and communicate clearly with both the homeowner and our office staff.
Over time, success means building a personal reputation for reliability and excellence. You will become a go-to craftsman for repeat clients in Melrose and the surrounding areas, maintain high customer satisfaction ratings, and help mentor newer team members by sharing your technical expertise.
