In this hands-on role, youll perform critical fire extinguisher servicing tasks that ensure our customers stay protected and compliant. From maintenance and recharging to hydrostatic testing and inventory support, youll be a key part of our shop operationssupporting both safety and service excellence. Whether were maintaining extinguishers or rolling out cutting-edge digital platforms, were building the future of fire protectionone safe facility at a time.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform 6-year maintenance on a wide range of portable fire extinguishers, including internal inspections and part replacements.Conduct hydrostatic testing of fire extinguishers and cylinders in accordance with regulatory and manufacturer standards.Recharge, tag, and certify extinguishers to ensure full compliance with NFPA 10 and other applicable codes.Diagnose and repair faulty extinguishers, or recommend replacements when needed.Maintain accurate service records for all shop inspections, maintenance, and testing procedures.Keep testing equipment, tools, and the shop environment clean, safe, and fully operational.Manage inventory, assist with stocking parts, and prep extinguishers for delivery or pickup.Follow strict safety protocols related to pressurized cylinders, chemicals, and equipment handling.Deliver clear and courteous communication with internal teams and, when needed, customers.QualificationsExperience in fire extinguisher service, shop work, or similar technical/mechanical roles preferred.Working knowledge of NFPA 10 codes and fire extinguisher servicing procedures (or willingness to learn).Ability to safely operate hydrostatic testing equipment and perform recharging processes.Mechanical aptitude with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.Excellent attention to detail and adherence to safety guidelines.Physical ability to lift and handle fire extinguishers up to 50 lbs.Certifications for extinguisher service and hydro testing (as required by local/state laws), or ability to obtain them.BenefitsCompetitive hourly pay with weekly pay scheduleMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife and Disability Insurance OptionsPaid Time Off vacation, holidays, and sick leaveRetirement Savings ProgramPaid Training and CertificationsUniforms & Equipment ProvidedEmployee Referral Bonus ProgramCompany Events & Recognition ProgramsOpportunities for growth within a fast-paced, national companyScheduleFull-Time Monday to FridayStandard business hours, with potential for flexibility during peak operational periodsWork LocationShop-based position located at our Brooklyn, NY facilityThis is a fully on-site role; no travel requiredEqual Employment Opportunity StatementWe are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
