Job Description:
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Howell, MI, as a Mechanical Project Engineer. The role involves overseeing automation and mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion, including planning, designing, and implementation. Responsibilities include utilizing CAD software to create detailed designs, collaborating across disciplines to ensure seamless project execution, managing project timelines and budgets, and coordinating with internal teams and clients to deliver successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Managing mechanical projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to project design specifications and timelines.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including mechanical designers, contractors, and project managers, to develop project plans and budgets.
- Conducting site assessments to determine project feasibility and gather technical requirements.
- Overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems designs, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Ensuring projects meet specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Complete design and detail using SolidWorks with efficiency.
- Analyses project requirements and develops mechanical engineering plans.
- Develops project scopes, schedules, and budgets for mechanical projects.
- Works with design teams to ensure mechanical plans meet technical requirements and ACE standards.
- Coordinates with contractors, supplies, and regulatory authorities to facilitate project execution.
- Manages budgets, timelines, and resources for mechanical project elements.
- Conducts risk assessment and implements safety measures throughout project phases.
- Monitors and reports on project progress, identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Provides technical support and guidance to project teams.
- Keeps the design within the criteria of the customer's requirements
- Other assignments may be delegated at any time.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Mechanical Engineering and Project Engineering principles
- Proficient in technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical components
- Expert skill with SolidWorks
- Strong Project Management skills, including organizing resources and managing timelines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience in industrial automation and manufacturing is a plus
- Knowledge of welding, robotics, and lasers
