Journeyman Pipefitter
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Pipefitter to join our industrial construction team. This is a field craft position responsible for the independent fabrication, fitting, and installation of piping systems across a range of industrial construction projects. You will work alongside a skilled crew in fast-paced, safety-driven environments and are expected to bring full craft competency to the job from day one.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and participate in pre-task planning, JHA/JSA development, and toolbox talks for all piping operations
- Fabricate, fit, and install pipe systems across carbon steel, stainless, alloy, and non-metallic materials without supervision
- Read and execute from isometric drawings and P&IDs accurately in the field
- Install and test all valve types, flange connections, expansion joints, steam traps, and specialty piping components per project specifications and applicable codes
- Perform hydrostatic, pneumatic, and leak testing and document results accurately
- Perform complex pipe layout and routing in the field
- Coordinate daily with other trades to avoid conflicts and maintain project schedule
- Provide on-the-job guidance and mentorship to apprentice and intermediate-level pipefitters
- Maintain accurate documentation of material traceability, test records, and work packages
- Enforce compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and ASME B31.1/B31.3 at all times
What You Bring:
- Minimum 5 years of full-time pipefitting experience in industrial construction
- Ability to independently fabricate and install pipe systems across all common industrial materials
- Proficiency in reading isometric drawings and P&IDs
- Strong knowledge of valve types, mechanical connections, and specialty piping components
- Ability to perform and document pressure and leak testing
- Solid understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and ASME B31.1/B31.3 piping codes
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse crew
- Welding knowledge or qualification a plus
- Ability to travel and work extended durations at project sites
Credentials:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- NCCER Journey Level Pipefitter certification preferred
- OSHA 30 Construction required
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
