Position Summary:

Accutron is seeking a highly experienced Senior Buyer with deep expertise in the electronic assemblies industry to lead our purchasing operations and team. This role is critical to ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of electronic components and materials required for production. The ideal

candidate will bring technical knowledge, strategic sourcing capabilities, and proven leadership experience to manage supplier relationships, optimize procurement processes, and support production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the purchasing and scheduling of materials for electronic assembly production.
  • Train and mentor purchasing team members on best practices, sourcing strategies, and daily operations.
  • Source and evaluate electronic components, including identifying alternative parts and suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms with vendors to ensure optimal cost and supply chain performance.
  • Manage supplier qualification and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and operations teams to align procurement with project timelines.
  • Resolve delivery issues and proactively communicate updates on pricing, availability, and lead times.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement in procurement processes.
  • Utilize MRP systems and tools to manage inventory and purchasing workflows.
  • Participate in company training programs focused on professional development and team performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: BS/BA degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in purchasing within contract manufacturing or electronic assemblies industry.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing and developing a purchasing team.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of electronic components and assembly processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Proficiency in MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with alternative sourcing strategies and component cross-referencing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills:

  • Strong negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
  • Professional and courteous communication across phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Ability to build rapport with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with regular computer and phone use.
  • Occasional meetings with vendors and cross-functional teams.
  • Requires continuous mental and visual attention.
