Role Description
Accurity’s QA/QC manager will manage all aspects of quality assurance and Quality Control for the entire company. This will pertain to both our 40,000 sqft fabrication shop and our field work. This person will be responsible for running the current ASME Code program, NAVSEA program, AWS, API programs, controlling all welding procedures, and making new ones as needed. The QA/QC manager will oversee the delivery of products/services that meet quality standards through testing and identifying areas for improvement. The QA/QC manager is responsible for conducting, documenting, and maintaining records associated with customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a passion for quality assurance. A current CWI is required.
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Welding Inspector certification, along with NDE qualifications.
- Ability to read and understand complex specifications, drawings, and technical documents
- Must maintain current industry awareness and ability to adapt quickly to new/emerging technologies, evolving business needs, industry trends, and best practices
- Must have strong attention to detail and an ability to deliver quality work under tight deadlines
- Must be familiarized with ASME Code work relative to Sect. I, Sect. VIII, B31.1 Power Piping, B31.3 Process Piping and D1.1 Structural Steel fabrication
- Skill Set with NAVSEA is a plus
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Must be Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- Oversee and manage the implementation of QA/QC processes on all fabrication and field jobs prior to start, including pre-job planning and kick off meeting preparations.
- Hire and manage all field QA/QC site managers for larger projects.
- Assist site superintendents in implementing QA/QC protocols on smaller projects.
- Set up and manage all third-party subcontractor inspection companies for NDE and heat treatment activities.
- Inspect ongoing and completed jobs using industry - appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionality.
- Check the assembly of work adhering to customers standards and procedures
- Review Blueprints and customer specifications to compare ongoing and completed jobs and ensure adherence to customer needs.
- Record and document inspection results by completing reports
- Train shop and field hands on quality control measures to improve product excellence
- Attends, witness, and verifies test and inspections
- Perform/plan/oversee in the field hydrostatic testing of pipe systems, perform NDE procedures including but not limited to die penetrant, magnetic particle and hardness testing.
- Create, modify, and maintain Quality Assurance procedures

Expected Travel:
- 1 – 2 nights out per week average depending on job site locations.
- Will be expected to travel for a week or two at a time to review redline drawings, 3rd party NDE subcontractors and to perform field audits on job sites.
