Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Aerospace Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fitting, fabricating, and assembling precision structural components used in aerospace tooling and assemblies. The ideal candidate will have strong blueprint interpretation skills, welding expertise, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality and safety standards in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret complex aerospace blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings to determine tolerances and material requirements
- Locate and interpret stock lists and bill of materials on engineering drawings
- Prep, layout, fit, position, and secure parts and assemblies to exact specifications
- Perform tack welding and final welding of components and assemblies
- Weld in flat, vertical, and horizontal positions using TIG and MIG processes
- Fabricate and assemble metal components using approved aerospace welding techniques
- Perform precision fitting, alignment, and adjustments to meet tight tolerances
- Construct structural components from raw materials in accordance with aerospace standards
- Operate fabrication equipment to saw, miter, and fit components
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and replace damaged or non-conforming components
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and ITAR requirements
- Follow all quality control procedures and documentation standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- TIG and MIG welding certification required (aerospace welding experience preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret detailed aerospace blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, combination squares, tape measures)
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment (saws, shears, cutting torches, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to tight tolerances
- Ability to concentrate and maintain accuracy over extended periods
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
Experience:
- 2 years of fabrication or welding experience in an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience working with aerospace materials (aluminum, stainless steel, titanium) is a plus
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
